Congratulations to Dr. Anthony Romeo’s former shoulder surgery patient Andrew Starykowics on being the first American to break 8-hours in the Ironman competition. Aaron is only the second athlete from the Western Hemisphere to attain this feat.
In May of last year Dr. Anthony Romeo performed shoulder surgery on Andrew, rebuilding his labrum. Within 5 months he was healthy enough to compete at the top level of triathlon.
In his blog, Andrew writes, “I am speechless and thankful for all the support from my wife, family, coaches, friends, and sponsors, both past and present. This has been a long journey and I just am really thankful right now.”
We commend him on his fantastic achievement and wish Andrew the best of luck in his future endeavors!
